We started our alpaca love affair following the purchase of two alpacas, when we moved to our farm in 2008. Our alpaca numbers grew quickly and we now run a herd of about 70 alpacas, mainly breeding females. We focus our alpaca breeding program on developing and producing alpacas that meet the industry standards, whilst focusing on the commercial needs of the fibre these beautiful animals grow.
We are located in Murrumbateman, NSW, just outside of Canberra. Surrounded by three wineries, we have wonderful views of the Brindabella mountain ranges, that in winter are snow capped.
Visitors to the farm are welcome by appointment or when we have farm open days. Follow us on Facebook for Farm Open Days. In addition to our alpaca farm, which we love, we also own and manage Blackwattle Alpaca Yarn and Fibre.
We have a Farm Shop full to the brim with hand dyed and natural alpaca yarn and fibre. We also run crafting workshops from the farm. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram – Blackwattle Yarn, for Farm Shop opening hours and future workshops.
